Installation tool for 1/4-20 RH threaded helical inserts. Use .266" dia (H drill) for hole, counter-sink top of hole, tap hole using oversized STI (steel threaded insert) tap. Thread insert onto threaded shaft, engage break-off tang to undercut groove at end of threads. Press hex body onto top of insert to keep thread pitch from enlarging while turning. Install insert one revolution below hole chamfer. Unthread shaft from insert. Use red loctite 242 to secure insert. Use pin and hammer to break-off installation tang.
