How do you transfer heavy pallets through a 90-degree change in direction while keeping the equipment almost flush with the floor? One of my mechanical design projects addresses this challenge with a low-profile pallet transfer system designed to handle loads of up to 2 metric tons. The system was designed to move loaded pallets along an L-shaped transfer path, combining guided pneumatic cylinders with strategically positioned ball transfer units to facilitate pallet movement between transfer positions.
