24-Hour Hackathon Project: Submarine Robot Upgrade · 模型 4931
During a 24-hour hackathon, I developed a solution to upgrade a submarine robot with an ultrasound surface control probe for underwater oil pipe inspection. My project focused on two key functionalities: Enhanced Stability: Four anchoring arms were designed and integrated into the robot's platform to secure it firmly to the oil pipe. This improved stability significantly enhanced the accuracy and reliability of the ultrasound measurements. Automated Scanning: A CNC system was implemented to control the movement of the ultrasound probe. This enabled the probe to scan multiple points along the pipe's surface, ensuring comprehensive inspection coverage. Self-Cleaning Mechanism: Water jets were added to the probe holder to automatically clean the probe's surface, preventing debris and contaminants from interfering with the ultrasound measurements. To better visualize the proposed solution, I designed a low-fidelity model of the submarine robot and generated 3D renders. These visual aids effectively showcased the integration of the new features and their potential impact on underwater oil pipe inspection. This project demonstrated the potential of integrating advanced technologies to enhance the capabilities of underwater robots for efficient and reliable oil pipe inspection. This solution was recognized as the first-place winner of the hackathon and has since been adopted by the project owner for further development and deployment.
