3-Axis HelmHoltz Coil · 模型 45385
For another extra credit project, I built a 3-Axis Helmholtz coil that creates uniform spheres of magnetic fields. It will go to a chemistry lab for a measurement setup with volumes of magnetic nanoparticles under uniform magnetic fields. Rather than buying one that costs 1000s of dollars, this setup reaches a maximum of 233.6 Gauss at 10A, and here all the coils cost a little over 250, just for the 22 awg wire. (I did not pay for the other materials, such as acrylic, but it doesn't need to be acrylic; it can be lots of other nonconductive materials.) This project has many details, so if this interests you, I will give you my complete project files and let you use my original files to customize it to your needs. After finals, I will create a more detailed description of how it works and how to build it.
