# 3D Printable Two-Finger Robotic Gripper **Designed in SOLIDWORKS | Servo-Driven | 3D Printable** ## Project Background This two-finger robotic gripper was developed as part of my Graduation Design Project (GDP), which involved building a humanoid assistive robot. During the development of our robot, we needed a two-finger gripper capable of handling everyday objects. While searching for suitable designs online, I came across a similar gripper being sold for approximately 100 AED. As university students working within a limited budget, we wanted to find a more affordable solution. With God's help, I was able to model this gripper myself using SOLIDWORKS. I decided to share the 3D-printable files with the engineering community in the hope that they might help another student, hobbyist, or robotics enthusiast working on a similar project. ## Design Overview The gripper uses a servo-driven mechanical arrangement with two opposing fingers. The upper arms incorporate meshing gear sections intended to synchronize their movement during opening and closing. The design consists of multiple 3D-printable components assembled using M3 fasteners and spacers. ## Required Hardware - 1 × MG996R servo motor - M3 × 12 mm female-to-female brass spacers - M3 × 5 mm screws, preferably flat-head screws where compatible with the mounting geometry - 3D-printed gripper components **Important:** Check the screw-head clearance, spacer quantities, and component fit before final assembly. ## Important Note About the Upper Arm Spacers The STL package includes small components named **upper_arm_Spacer**. These spacers are used to adjust the vertical positioning of the upper arms so that their gear sections remain at the same level and mesh correctly. Please do not overlook these components during assembly, as incorrect gear alignment may affect the gripper's movement. ## Included Files and References - STL files for the 3D-printable gripper components - Assembly reference images - Suggested 3D-print orientations - Object-gripping illustrations - A video demonstrating the gripper's opening and closing motion ## Gripping Examples The uploaded images illustrate how the gripper is intended to interact with three objects: 1. Tennis ball 2. 500 mL water bottle 3. 1,500 mL water bottle These images are provided as visual demonstrations of the gripper's geometry and intended applications. They should not be interpreted as verified gripping-force or payload test results.
