For my Bachelor’s thesis at Addis Ababa University, I took a quadcopter drone prototype from initial concept to physical reality, bridging theoretical fluid dynamics with modern additive manufacturing. Using SolidWorks, I performed end-to-end 3D CAD modeling, FEA stress analysis, and CFD fluid simulations to rigorously evaluate frame integrity and aerodynamic performance. To achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio, I designed modular lattice arm structures and leveraged FDM 3D printing with optimized internal gyroid infill patterns, taking the project from digital simulation to physical prototyping and flight testing.
