This was a design I created for a seperate challenge that required a Rod holder design. Since I had designed it in plastic with 3D printing in mind, I feel it would make a good candidate for this event technical Notes* All the components of this design can be 3D printed without the need for scaffolding, the rubber padding sections on the clamps will be printed as plastic however the feature can easily be designed out, leaving recessed where real rubber can be glued in place. Also, the metal inserts in the plastic knobs will print out in plastic, which is ok, but this can very quickly be designed out, leaving cavities for metal bolt inserts. The threading on all the components needs to be matched as it's just designed for aesthetics at the moment, a few scaled down test prints of the threaded parts will help with figuring out the correct threading design and match ) If the carrier handles are too long to print, the backs can be cut shorter or the whole carrier can be scaled within the printing software, no worries... This would be an awesome, feasible, not overly expensive project to print! I would love to see it made in real life! I can assist with any modifications required.
