Hi everyone, now I will explain my project. I have a 3d mouse of 3dconnexion in particular the SpaceTraveler model. This 3d mouse model has the advantage of having 8 eight customizable buttons on board. This is a plus over current models that only have 2 two. I don't want to buy the SpaceMouse Enterprise because it currently costs madness although it deserves them all, but my resources do not allow me to upgrade. So I thought of doing the upgrade myself by designing the body, the base and the leverage that allows you to select the 8 eight buttons. It would seem a modification only aesthetic and instead not because in use the 3d mouse as it was originally conceived has the defect of rotating and therefore despite it is much easier to view and rotate the 3d objects on the screen sometimes the orientation is lost. Here is the reason to lock it on a solid basis. The project has two variants, one that follows that of the SpaceMouse Pro obtained by 3D scanning and a second with a minimalist design just with the support for the wrist. To verify its operation, I printed the pieces myself and I must say that I am quite comfortable in using this new solution. Forgive me if the print quality is not the best but I used a waste filament and I set the printer for a rough and fast job in order to complete the delivery of the project. How I proceeded: 1 concept design with sketch on huion graphics tablet in particular Kanvas 13 Pro 2 reverse engineering of SpaceMouse Pro from a scan found on the internet 3 modeling with Rhinoceros Fusion360 and Blender 4 prints with Sunlu S8 5 physical modeling with clay and ergonomics study 6 scan the job with Kinectv2 7 reverse engineering with Rhinoceros 8 movement simulation with Fusion360 9 static calculation with Fusion360 10 final print with Sunlu S8 Later I will update the project with images of the various study and design phases. A special thanks must be given to my friend Ing. Andrea Evola for the stastic calculation with Fusion360 and for the design advice.
