This is a modell of a test stand for speed measuring as well as other testing of 40mm Riflegranades. its usually triggered by a solenoid or a string , if you test fire live shaped charge granades against armour you dont want to stand nearby these kinds of mounts are in use at NIJ and VPAM as well as other ballistic institutions as well as manufacturers for ammo testing I dont own the rights to this system but i dont think its patented since the makeing of these test blocks is common knowledge by now it was made by HPI for buisness partners like VPAM https://www.hpi-gmbh.com/ they got lab grade speed and pressure measurement stuff for ballistics, with piezzo elements for pressure measuring up to several thousend bar, their stuff is highly oversized to ensure safety when shooting experimental loads
