50-feet sailboat Ketch · 模型 8725
This is an 50 feet Sailboat ketch with aluminium construction design by me. Ketch type boats are very useful for long voyages in the open sea due to two qualities that differentiate them from a traditional sloop: 1.- By dividing the sail into more than one mast, the center of gravity of the entire boat goes down... achieving greater stability than having a single mast. 2.- By having less sail area on each mast, the maneuver requires less effort than a single mainsail. 3.- By reducing the compression of the main mast with less sail area, the pressure in the hull is also reduced... reducing the necessary structure in the mast-step.
