This modular bucket drum design is composed of only two parts. The individual drums can be connected together to achieve any desired capacity. Each drum has 2 scoops for fast filling and dumping. The internal baffle design prevents the material inside from compacting and clogging the scoops, and thus allows for a fill capacity of 93%. Each bucket drum can hold roughly 6.09 liters of regolith when filled at 93% capacity. Three drums in series will achieve the desired 17.6 liter capacity. This bucket drum design can be scaled to fit other robotic regolith collecting vehicles.
