A-Cat GoPro and Calypso Ultrasonic Portable Anemometer mount · 模型 9640
To measure True Wind speed on a sailboat one needs an anemometer. The smallest available is Calypso Ultrasonic Portable. To mount the anemometer between the forestays I created this mounting frame. It also holds GoPro cameras so to overlay videos with wind and VMG data. Note that mounting an anemometer on the mast-top is not an option, as the mast rotates and as such would skew the wind-direction measurement. Fyi: sailmon MAX provides a display for the calypso ultrasonic portable. v2 version allows the line to go through the mount, with the purpose to reduce the tension that the line is causing to the 3D printed mount (I cracked v1 twice in the frame area by too much pull force on the lines when tied to 4 points to the model).
