Air Pod · 模型 33310
Project Brief – AirPod Surface Modeling in SOLIDWORKS This model is a practice project created in SOLIDWORKS to explore and refine surface modeling techniques. The goal was to replicate the organic and ergonomic shape of an AirPod, which is challenging due to its complex curvature and smooth transitions. Key Features of the Model: Surface Modeling Workflow: Used Lofted Surfaces and Swept Surfaces to define the organic curves of the earbud head. Applied Boundary Surfaces to achieve smooth transitions between surfaces. Used Trim, Knit, and Fillet Surfaces for refining the geometry. Details and Openings: Created the speaker outlet and sensor cutouts using Trim Surface and Cut with Surface. Refined edges with Fillet Surface to match the real-world product look. Challenges Faced: Maintaining surface continuity (C2 smoothness) across the curved head and stem. Managing reference sketches and curves to ensure symmetry. Applications of This Practice: Strengthens understanding of advanced surfacing tools in SOLIDWORKS. Builds skill for designing real-world consumer electronics, where aesthetics and ergonomics are crucial. Reflections: This was a valuable exercise in balancing design accuracy with modeling efficiency. Surface modeling in SOLIDWORKS can be tricky, but projects like this help develop the intuition needed for handling complex freeform shapes.
