This pin design features a 3D octagonal pyramid of which the inside surface contains all of the text. Though on its face simple it would be impossible to adapt this concept with high effectiveness to most other traditional manufacturing methods, making 3D printing the key that allows this design to be manufactured. It is a relatively easy print on a Maker-bot style machine, which would allow attendees at the conference to print their own, representing the ability to digitally share 3D printed files, which resources like Thingiverse and Grabcad are making easier. The octagonal shape represents the many facets to effective design while the placement of text on the inside makes for an intriguing design and represents how so much of the work that goes into industrial design is not, and should not necessarily, be apparent from the outside. The design has three iterations, one of which uses a 2.5 inch pin to affix to a lapel and one which uses a thumbtack, as well as one which would slip onto a lapel. All designs have the same inner design.
