After countless iterations and many months of melting my brain cells, I am proud to finally present the rough draft for All-terrain Wheelchair Design Concept. This 4 track drive, 4 track steering transforming Wheelchair has the capability to squeeze down to 34" wide to go through any standard doorway or gate, then extend out to 64" wide for superior off-road stability. It is capable of transitioning between these two modes without doing any damage to the ground. Once the Wheelchair passes through a restrictive opening, the operator raises the legs completely off the ground, resting the center section on the 4 leveling feet. Then the arms can be moved in or out to the desired width, then placed back down on the ground lifting the center section up to the find the perfect balance between a low center of gravity and the appropriate ground cleance for the given terrain. The left and right arm sections are on independent pivots connected to the center section by a balance beam similar to the Mars rovers. This allows all 4 tracks to maintain even distribution of the vehicles weight even when one or more of the tracks are in a hole or uneven terrain. The chair also has the capability to zero point turn, crab walk, and counter steer to meet the demands of any situation. This design is still a rough draft and there is going to be many revisions before a final design is settled on, but I wanted to post the current status of the concept so that I can take into account any suggestions for improvements
