arista face shield · 模型 255878
Minimalist face shield design. The goal here was to create a bare-bones shield that could be printed quickly. The design was inspired by the PRUSA open source design. -eliminated the bottom bracket found on the PRUSA design. They just add time to the print and provide little value. -Thinned the frame to .25" thickness. -Made an elliptic contour to better fit the head (much more comfortable than PRUSA. -Print takes 52 minutes, 17.48 g of material (PLA). No rafting, 100% fill, with supports turned on, on my Makerbot Replicator 2. You may be able to run faster with lower %fill. - Shield - go to Staples and buy 5 mil lamination pouches, 9x11.5". Run them through a laminator empty, they will clarify and stiffen. - Mark your holes and curves on the laminated pouch by using the jig. - Align the top left corner mark holes, then bottom left corner, trace. Then flip the jig and do the same on the other side. A single hole punch can be used. - Place the laminated sheet on one side of the frame and work your way applying a good amount of tension to the sheet to stretch it onto the holes. This is intended to be somewhat difficult so it won't fall off during use. THIS DESIGN IS NOT VALIDATED AND NOT INTENDED FOR USE AS EYE OR FACE PROTECTION. BUILD AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
