As everybody is doing machines I decided to do something different. This is an Astrario (I couldn´t find the translation to english, maybe is Astrarium or something) and shows the relative position of Venus and the Sun from a observer in the Earth. The picture found in the paper 92v of the Manuscrip L shows one detail not found in previous da Vinci drawings. This detail is that not all the teeth are drawings in one gear. This is indicative that da Vinci had access to the Tractatus Astrarii published by Dondi, the only book by that time with that kind of annotation. Before having access to the book, da Vinci visited the city of Padua where was located the Astrarium that Dondi had built. The picture and the information about this mechanism is found in the book I ROBOT DI LEONARDO DA VINCI, WRITTEN BY MARIO TADEI AND MASSIMILIANO LISA.
