The task for this particular project was to design a detachable shovel handle that would be an improvement for existing shovels to relieve stress off of the worker's body. The instructor, Mr. X, gave the assignment to come up or improve upon an already preexisting invention. The design was to be completed by March 8th. The design would be transferred from the inventor file to a file that would align with the software of the 3D printer. The instructor provided the class with a 3D printer and filament in order to physically make the part. The design that was created on inventor was then printed out through the use of the 3D printer. The design was given on 2/14/2017 and was to be completed by 3/14/2017. Some problems that I came across while designing the product were that some of the dimensions did not fit right together. Also, I had to be cautious with our design due to the material that we would be working with. In conclusion, I believe that my design will provide beneficial aspects to snow removers across the globe.
