A motor glider modeled in CAD and built using laser-cut balsa ribs, fuselage reinforcements, and hand-cut structural beams with the airframe is covered with thermo-shrink film. It has a 2 meter wing span, weighs around 800g without the battery, and it is very maneuverable due to the large control surfaces. The aircraft is equipped with a brushless motor and 9 g servos operated through a 2.4 GHz RC system. The completed model serves as a platform for practicing fundamental flight handling and basic soaring techniques. I believe it to be a very nice easy build for anyone in possession of a small desktop laser cutter, and who wants to start learning how to fly model gliders.
