Bar Grating "universal size" models in SolidWorks 2017. Grating modeled using several different techniques including .sldprt file with sketch patterns, .sldprt file with linear patterns, and .sldasm files with virtual parts. The .sldasm files are smaller than .sldprt - will allow your model to update faster. The .sldasm files are equation driven . Adust global variables in the SolidWorks Equation Manager to set size. The .sldasm files center cross rods on the bar length and select the number of rods and bars that fit within the nominal length and width entered. The .sldprt files require adjustments to the defining sketches but can also model many grating sizes, including metric. This includes bars from 3/4"x1/8" up to 6" x 3/8" and spacing from 7P4, 7P2 to 38W4, 38W2. The .x_t, .step, and .igs files are 1"x3/16" 19W4, 3'x24' and are not parametric.
