LEGACY PAGE : I HAVE WITHDRAWN THE PARAMETRIC MODELS BUT HAVE LEFT THE PAGE TO RETAIN DOWNLOAD & "LIKE" DATA 19th Century ENGLISH CASKS Data compiled from Ken Kilby's book "Cooper & his Trade" that had measurements and enough information to model standard wooden casks into a 3D model. Solidworks part file was produced for use with a 3D printer for producing Casks in a variety of historic sizes for dioramas ( I have yet to print one though). Tried to keep model close to historic standard but some incongruences may abound. In due course of project learnt that actual size of a cask could differ between products. Interesting to note that the US gallon is based on the old wine gallon. The model has configurations between 10 different sizes (3 gallon cask > 108 Gallon Butt). Further reconfiguration through "Feature Manager Design Tree"can be accomplished by suppression or activation of features ( bungs & holes, Open Top Cask, Hoops). In switching between configurations, be sure to use the model rebuild button after each reconfigure. The project was a self taught training exercise for compiling & use of Design Tables along with equation driven dimensions. In so doing, one useful process I hit upon was to produce a master template that linked feature sketches back to such and made it easier to manage the design table. I am Presently using the master template process to produce individual parts for a cask assembly (as per animation) That model will be future inclusion. Additional file to be uploaded on GRABCAD will be a cask spigot
