Here is my compact & modular design for the Multi-Function Reader Design challenge by Blackboard Transact. https://grabcad.com/challenges/the-multi-function-reader-design-challenge Completed in three days... >3D Modeled in Solidworks >Rendered in Keyshot >Composition with After Effects Aimed for a minimal yet sleek design where many features including the add-on options could be conveniently & aesthetically merged with the primary device. The main core unit consists of the Touchscreen display, Mag Stripe card reader slot, Contactless credential reader, Camera, Speaker, RJ45 and USB ports. The device is about 7”x7” and can be mounted to either countertop or wall, using 6 screws or bolts, taking up ~3 1/4” x 4 1/4” footprint on mounting surface. The device components and add-ons are attached with plastic snap-action clips built-in, so no fastening hardware needed aside from mounting. Covers can be snapped off in same way for servicing. OPTIONS (add on directly to core unit) - Motion sensor. - ADA peripherals: Microphone; Braille/Number pad. - Micro SD (adds on next to RJ45 & USB).
