The concept is based on the principle of a bottle rocket: pressurised gas pushes against a piston until the retaining force is overcome, releasing the stored energy and ejecting the rocket. Using inspiration from the bottle rocket principle, the design uses a pneumatic piston with a magnetic latch and flexture clamps guided by the capsule’s sidewalls for retention. To minimise cost and complexity, it avoids machined parts, dowel pins, and compression springs.
