Our project encompasses two mechanisms studied in class: cams and followers, and gear transmissions. The three main purposes for our selections are as follows: 1) This project provides an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and identify practical challenges that arise when implementing these mechanisms, compared to simulations. 2) The selected gear transmission enables exploration of a common gear mechanism known as rack and pinion, enhanced by the addition of a rubber band to propel the rack upward. 3) The goal is to design an engaging model inspired by the imagery of our esteemed engineering faculty. The animated image of our faculty will move with the followers as the cam rotates, and the engineering chair in the middle, attached to the rack, will always face forward and appear decisive as he moves upward
