Carburetor Elbow for the Wright P-2 Cyclone Engine · 模型 197512
The Carburetor Elbow for the Wright P-2 Cyclone was part of a 9-cylinder, 1654-cubic-inch engine manufactured for the U.S. Navy in 1926. It succeeded the Wright P-1 as the next engine in the Cyclone series. Historically, following the Curtiss R-1454, the P-2 Cyclone was the second radial engine to be equipped with a gear-driven supercharger. The Carburetor Elbow casting featured a surrounding chamber (or jacket) through which hot engine oil was circulated to prevent carburetor icing during flight.
