CELIK A5 R3 — 5-Blade Ducted Thruster Concept | 84 mm Swept Rotor · 模型 111412
An independent underwater thruster geometry study developed in Autodesk Fusion 360 through iterative CAD modeling and design review. The A5 concept explores a compact, modular rotor, nozzle, and motor-pod arrangement intended for ROV and USV development. It is a mechanical design study rather than a completed motor assembly or a direct replacement for an existing commercial thruster. **Rotor — five swept, elliptical-section blades** The 84 mm rotor uses five blades positioned at 72° intervals. Seven radial stations define the blade chord, thickness, pitch, and progressively increasing skew. The blade surfaces are lofted between these sections and trimmed to a common 42 mm tip radius, with approximately 0.8 mm root blends. The blade sections are closed elliptical approximations rather than standard NACA hydrofoil profiles. The five-blade arrangement was selected to investigate a higher blade-area configuration and improved load distribution, while recognizing the associated increases in wetted surface area and blockage. The rounded section geometry should not be interpreted as being optimized for reverse operation. Differences in rotor diameter, geometry, and motor configuration also mean that comparisons with earlier concepts should not be treated as controlled blade-count studies. **Nozzle — modified NACA 0011 thickness distribution** The annular nozzle is approximately 64 mm long with an 85.6 mm nominal throat diameter and a finite 0.8 mm outlet edge. An 11% thickness distribution was used as a practical starting point for packaging, structural wall thickness, and overall nozzle geometry. The analytical profile is revolved around the propulsion axis to create a repeatable rounded inlet and tapered outlet. This geometry is not intended to represent a standard Wageningen 19A/37 nozzle, nor is it currently claimed to be a hydrodynamically optimized duct profile. **Mechanical arrangement** The concept includes: * Removable motor pod * Three structural supports * Bearing carrier * Shaft interface * Recessed M3 × 8 and M4 × 10 fasteners * Separate mounting saddle The design is intended to remain modular so that individual components can be revised as the propulsion system develops. Motor selection, bearings, torque transmission, axial shaft retention, sealing, cable routing, and electrical integration are still under development. The current assembly should therefore be considered a mechanical concept rather than an operational propulsion unit.
