CFD Airflow Visualization and Aerodynamic Analysis of a Race Car · 模型 72388
This project presents a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) airflow visualization and aerodynamic analysis of a race car model using SolidWorks Flow Simulation. The simulation focuses on understanding the airflow characteristics around the vehicle body through streamline patterns, velocity vectors, and pressure behavior during high-speed motion. The results show how airflow interacts with the front splitter, side body, wheels, underbody, and rear wing of the vehicle. From the streamline visualization, it can be observed that the airflow remains relatively stable along the upper body surface while flow separation and turbulent wake regions appear around the rear section of the car. The vector plots also indicate areas with complex airflow behavior near the wheels and aerodynamic components, which contribute significantly to drag and downforce generation. The underbody airflow demonstrates the influence of ground effect, where accelerated airflow beneath the vehicle creates lower pressure zones that help improve stability and tire grip. In addition, the front and rear aerodynamic elements play an important role in directing airflow efficiently to minimize aerodynamic losses. This simulation provides a better understanding of race car aerodynamics and demonstrates how CFD tools can be used to evaluate and optimize vehicle performance before physical prototyping or wind tunnel testing. The project also highlights the importance of airflow management in achieving a balance between low drag and high downforce for motorsport applications.
