A sample Inventor sketch which demonstrates how to find the exact width and height of a Closed 2D spline using sketch constraints. The method I came up with is hard to describe in writing, but very easy to understand if demonstrated. The method requires a fully defined spline curve and some helper geometry. I'm not sure if my method is 100% foolproof nor if it truly does find the exact positions of the extrema of the curve. I'd very much appreciate if someone could verify my claims. Also, this sketch sample was created using an Educational Version of Inventor 2013 Professional. You have been warned.
