Concept for NASAEAS · 模型 258186
Very lightweight concept for Grabcad Challenge, Experiment Attachment System (EAS). Main goals are easy assembly without tools and light weight. Optimizing is made only with static FEA analysis. Bulging and true surface pressures are needed to analyze if concept is chosen to fabrication. My laptop crash after more sophisticated contacts so these are left out of focus in this study. Parts are made for easy machinable in 5Axis CNC or most preferable 3D printed with post machining. If printing is chosen high strength aluminum is not available commercially and titanium is preferred. Stainless parts are more economical to print but are possible to manufacture also with machining. Corner feets are connected with 2.0mm stainless cable. Its breaking force is 2.27 kN and max force in study 0.4kN. This cable is flexible so it is possible to pack feet’s to launch cargo bag. Towers and flanges are supposed to attached permanently in earth and so those travel with experiment. Total weight is now 120.79 gram. Towers and flanges are included. 125 lbs side force is possible to add with 25 gram supports. Negative parallel with rail force is possible to add with other set of cables. Its adds another 20 gram. Forces and moment are less in top loading case so pic of that case is not calculated. These are not calculated again after flange remove from experiment plate.
