IMPORTANT: Please download the PDF, it is an 18 page report on the exact particulars of this design and far more comprehensive. This is the result of an informal jam session at the start of the COVID pandemic between engineers at the University of Queensland Robotics Design Lab. I took the talk further and worked out most of the issues in the manufacturing logistics, but it still needs a lot more work. Basically put - this mask is almost entirely constructed inside a laser cutter, taking about 2 minutes to fabricate a single one. All the proving was done with a single mask, but it's plausible to array the whole working bed to make as many as possible in a single run, or a very custom machine to produce one (face scanning perhaps?) with optimized settings and materials to produce a mask much faster. There's a SolidWorks part file, which is only a sketch. There's also a DXF for those that don't have SolidWorks. In addition is the CorelDraw file which I used to drive the laser cutter. Basically, this has a lot of potential but has hit the limit of my expertise, it needs to be taken on by a group that can take it further, so it's all Creative Commons and such forth. Just throw me an email and some pictures if you manage to get this going large scale. Lets beat this thing people.
