There is a high demand for additive manufacturing in the automotive mold market for conformal cooling channels design. This is the source of inspiration of this design. This model is based on the design and simulation of an internal cooling channel through the pebble. These kinds of channels can only be achieved with Additive Manufacturing. The simulation results for these models, can only be inspected through a screen. Poly Jet technology not only is able to produce such a part but also enables engineers to hold the simulation results on their hands. This design attempts to inspire the adoption of Poly Jet technologies as a tool during the development phase. A tool that enables the representation of the ideas on a physical format. Poly Jet can improve the understanding and the results of research to bring to the table more efficient models. This part has been designed with Fusion360, simulated in Simscale, post-processed with Paraview and textured with Rhino.
