crutchaccessory The cup holder and dish holder are hung from the hooks by straps which allows the holders to swing freely! The hook-cantilevers are oriented outwards to prevent the holders from colliding with the legs and they swing. There are three types of clamps: simple clamp , clamp with hanger, clamp with container. The clamp with hanger can be used to carry bags, shopping bags, etc. The clamp with container can be used to carry bottles, cans , fork and spoon, etc. The hook-cantilevers can be disassembled when not needed (we’re not eating 24/7!!), while the clamps remain or the crutches and can be used for carrying the mentioned stuff. Two high friction rubber sheets (circular) are better to be placed in dish holder and cup holder to prevent the dish and cup from slipping. (Diameter: 230mm and 85mm respectively; thickness: 2 ~4 mm). Clamps are attached to the crutches by M4 screws and nuts and a pin is used to change the height of each clamp. The model is designed and also analyzed for static strength in SolidWorks. The loads applied were higher than expected! 1kg (10 N) for the cup holder and 3 kg (30N) for the dish holder. And also 30N for the hook-cantilever. The material used for simulation was ABS.
