CryoHoneycomb Modular Heat Exchanger - Enhanced Design · 模型 57253
My name is Agustín Stangoni, and I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Engineering and Surveying (FCEIA), part of the National University of Rosario (UNR), located in Santa Fe, Argentina. This project was developed in collaboration with my teammates Sebastián Beltrando (https://grabcad.com/sebastian.beltrando-1) and Franco Rubiolo (https://grabcad.com/franco.rubiolo-3), as part of the course Synthesis of Mechanisms and Machines, taught by professors Marcelo Valderrey (https://grabcad.com/marcelo.valderrey-1), Rubén Lupi (https://grabcad.com/ruben.lupi-1), and Alexis Bregant (https://grabcad.com/alexis.bregant-1). We are deeply grateful to them for their guidance, support, and inspiration throughout the development of this concept. In response to the NASA challenge “Novel Recuperator Design for Cryogenic Fluid Management System” (https://grabcad.com/challenges/novel-recuperator-design-for-cryogenic-fluid-management-system), we developed our proposed solution, the CryoHoneycomb Modular Heat Exchanger (https://grabcad.com/library/cryohoneycomb-modular-heat-exchanger-1). In this new version, we focused on performing a post-design refinement through a Divergent-Convergent Conceptual Post-Processing (PCDC), driven by the course. Our goal was to enhance the design in order to better meet NASA’s outlined requirements. As detailed in the attached report, we introduced several modifications, such as the addition of deflector baffles and internal flow activators within the hexagonal tubes, among other improvements. We preserved the modularity concept from our initial submission, which we found to be particularly promising. The design still retains its compact dimensions and low weight, and we further analyzed its feasibility for additive manufacturing (AM). Once again, we would like to thank our professors for encouraging us to engage in this type of challenge and for giving us the opportunity to improve even our own designs. We also express our appreciation to NASA for allowing individuals from around the world to contribute their ideas and concepts to such valuable goals within the aerospace industry.
