Here is a model of a wheel from the MSL Curiosity Mars Rover. I have drawn this model from in formation contained in the book The Design and Engineering of Curiosity. I've ensured that the morse code cut outs in the outside tread actually spell out J P L just like the original. Modeled and rendered with Fusion 360. Additional renders in Twinmotion. DIA (Centre) : 500mm including the treads DIA (Edges) : 465mm (assuming including the treads) Width : 400mm Thickness : 0.75mm Stiffeners : Inside and Outside edge Stiffeners : 133.2mm (1/3 in from outside edge) Grousers : 65mm apart (approx) Grousers : 7mm high
