This is a model created as part of Da Vinci 3D Design Challenge by Dassault Systems. An impromptu CAD model by a beginner designer. The model has 14 distinct parts. Took a few hours to design from scratch, following drawings from online resources, preserved from Da Vinci's drawing relics!! How it works: It uses the gear system primarily to work. The initial loading or thrust is given by using rubber bands. Twisting the rubber bands installs internal torque in the top gear wheels as the rubber bands are connected to the top gears. Once released, the untwisting of the rubber bands create a torque necessary to rotate the top gears, which in turn transfer the rotation to the idler gears in the bottom, and then to the wheel gears. That is how the wheels rotate causing the motion of the car!
