I designed and manufactured this trepanning tool in tribute to master machinist David Wilks, Sheffield lad. Maximum bore depth 125mm. Results in a bore of 50.65mm and a slug of 31.3mm. Flood coolant is mandatory to clear chips along the chip channels on each side of the boring tube. I used my small cnc mill to 3D machine the carbide insert pockets into the LH & RH Cartridges. Inserts are WCMX030208. Options to mount in a 3 Morse Taper Tailstock or in a BXA 250-204 Boring Bar Holder are included. Tribute to David Wilks design. Smaller version.
