Mobile robots represent a branch of robotics with wide application in industry, medicine, agriculture, and everyday life. The development of mobile robots has enabled the automation of tasks that previously required human intervention, thereby improving both efficiency and safety in operation. As part of this master’s thesis, the process of developing a mobile platform will be presented, starting from the parametrization of the model within the CAD software Catia V5, the selection of mechanical and electronic components, through the physical fabrication of the platform prototype, and finally the implementation of an autonomous system within the ROS 2 framework using ROS2 Control. Additionally, by employing sensor systems, algorithms for environment mapping, localization, and autonomous navigation will be implemented. In the final stage, experimental validation of the mecanum mobile robot’s motion will be carried out within the CRTA laboratory facilities.
