The DHX 3.0 is the successor to my previous lightweight dirtbike design, the DHX 2.0. This design intent with this iteration was to reduce complexity and make it easier to manufacture. The frame design DOES NOT require welding. It is all CNC'd from 6061 and and the frame components bolt together. It can be shipped globally with ease as the parts can all be flat packed. This latest chassis design represents the culmation of years of research and design starting back in 2011. However, unlike the first prototypes (DHX 1 and 2) which were designed using cardboard and welded stock tubing, this bike was fully designed in CAD as per motorcycle industry standards. I've been working on this updated design since 2014, I finished the 3D printed mock up in 2018 and back benched the whole project since then. At the time, the next steps were to make CNC'd samples in aluminum but I never got around to it. I was NOT planning on sharing it. But I've put so much work into it and it's so innovative, I would hate to see it go to waste just sitting on a shelf and a hard drive. That's why I'm deciding to share the file package with anyone who is interested for a reasonable fee. For anyone who is interested, please read below. IMPORTANT NOTES: - The core design of the frame and plastics are basically ready to go but should still be considered a prototype. Depending on your use case, alterations might be required. - The file package is LARGE, it contains all the native .sld files, the .stl files to print the mock up and the files prepped for CNC machining. - You can do whatever you want with the file package, CNC the parts in house, create productions runs, try to sell them etc. I don't care. Just credit the creator. or if you're a motorcycle company, I'd love to work together. - This design uses a chinese YX gas engine, anything from 125CC - 190CC. However, it could definitely be adapted for electric use. - This is a currently PROTOTYPE design. It has not been performance and strength tested in the real world. Further testing would be required.
