For https://grabcad.com/challenges/grabcad-speedrun-design-challenge This started well over a year ago with a model of a dodecahedron from https://grabcad.com/michael.paauwe with a discussion on how to make a dodecahedron in as few features as possible. There are many different techniques here on GC but here are the rules for this challenge... Must be a solid Must be regular (all edges equal...) Center of mass must me located at the origin Parametric (I do not want any dimensions but rather that with Instant3D turned on, a sketch feature could be grabbed and dragged to re-size the solid. In the video I added an additional sketch of a line so I could hide the way I did it. With all the above criteria met, the least amount of features (from the features statistics window) and build time will help decide the best one. I have seen this shape built with only 4 features. Mine has 7 because it more easy for me to create it this way as there is no math to calculate any angles. (do not round off angles or it may not be regular) \Any questions or suggestions feel free to ask. I just made two videos (I could only record for 3 min at a time) making this part. It took about 4:45 to complete but the recording program slowed me down a little and I had a few minor problems with my sketch mates. There also appears to be some misunderstanding in what I am looking for. No dimensions or limited dimensions so you can drag a sketch entity with instant3D turned on to re-size the solid. I was not able to do this with any of the other entries yet, I may be trying to grab the wrong sketch entity but if you look at my files, any part of sketch 1 should drag to re-size. I am also looking the feature statistics to see how the rebuild time is so how efficient are the features you used? I added a new folder with screen shots comparing the entries so far on the same computer.
