Dog clutch · 模型 42984
Dog Clutch – Mechanical Power Transmission Component A dog clutch is a positive mechanical coupling device used to connect or disconnect two rotating shafts to transmit torque without slip. Unlike friction clutches, it uses interlocking teeth (dogs) to achieve direct mechanical engagement. Description This dog clutch model consists of two mating components: Driving Hub with external dog teeth Driven Hub/Sleeve with matching internal slots When engaged, the dog teeth fit precisely into the corresponding recesses, locking both shafts together so they rotate at the same speed. When disengaged, the shafts rotate independently. Working Principle The clutch operates by axial sliding movement. Engagement typically occurs when both shafts are stationary or rotating at synchronized speeds to prevent impact loading and tooth damage. Applications Manual gearboxes Motorcycle transmissions Industrial machinery Power transmission systems CNC and automation equipment Advantages No slip during power transmission High torque capacity Simple and compact design High efficiency
