Ebike from "Scratch" (Project VolPed) · 模型 185335
Thanks to Tom Stanton for an enormous amount of the information and source of inspiration for this project. Tom Stanton: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC67gfx2Fg7K2NSHqoENVgwA (Description is located below the requirements) Requires: 1*Huffy Men's 26in Mountain Bicycle 1*Razor E100 Electric Scooter 1+*3D printer 1* throttle: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3774380 (needs modification) 1*1/4in. 6061 Aluminum plate (roughly 12in*6in) #*so much more that there's really no point in listing it. Feel free to contact me if you want the full list. Or leave a comment. The primary idea behind this project was to turn a bike into an E-bike using things I already had access to. A secondary goal, which I have tried to do in more projects than I should, was to require no permanent modification. Somehow, I managed to achieve the second goal, which I'm pleased with. Admittedly, assembling the thing was a real pain and requires some less-common tools (ex: snap ring pliers and chain resizer tool). It's probably not going back together if I decide to take it apart. Someone pointed out to me that using 20-Volt batteries and converting it to 24 volts means it has less current, which makes sense. When I created this, I had very little concept of how electricity works. For instance, I thought if you put relays in different spots on wires you could determine an order of occurrence and some logic. That may work in Minecraft, but unsurprisingly, that's not how it works in real life. I did succeed in my primary idea. For the reason I mentioned above, it's a bit weak, but it does a pretty good job of keeping speed. It can get you going, but it's not happy about it. On a flatter trail, this would really help to ease longer stretches. It depletes the 20V 6Ah drill batteries I use to power it at what I feel is an acceptable rate for drill batteries moving me (~140lbs) and the bike (~35lbs with all the modifications). This is more of an engineering project just to see what I could do and demonstrate my abilities to future employers. You probably shouldn't make this yourself. (Edit 3/3/24): I realized that with this project complete, I can move on from its original form and allow it more freedom, like using different motors or batteries. I encourage everyone to make something. Don't compare yourself to others, learn, and have fun. <3 (See comments for link to view latest version)
