The egg carton has not been redesigned since it was invented in 1911 by newspaper editor Joseph Coyle of Smithers; British Columbia. My design can be made of cardboard and is not only collapsible but also biodegradable therefore better for the environment. I work at a grocery store to help pay for my college bills, all the time I see eggs cracked from the top. With this design I would be limiting that by holding the eggs from the top and bottom where it is strongest to hold it but also doesn't allow for objects to hit the top. I hope that with this design it will eliminate eggs from cracking and can be easier on the environment. the holes on the top and bottom allow th egg to sit in place without rolling around while also allowing it the freedom to not be hit by the other eggs in the carton. This is a simple design that I believe will solve this major problem in grocery and agriculture life.
