On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared it a pandemic. The virus has disrupted travel worldwide, leading to flight cancellations, quarantines, and other breakdowns in movement. Face shields are personal protective equipment devices that are used by many workers (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary) for protection of the facial area and associated mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth) from splashes, sprays, and spatter of body fluids. Face shields are generally not used alone, but in conjunction with other protective equipment and are therefore classified as adjunctive personal protective equipment. Polycarbonate and Polyester (PET) Film are two common plastic materials used in the development of surgical face shields. Both materials are transparent and provide high optical clarity. Polycarbonate and PET are both lightweight and can be easily processed into almost any shape so manufacturers can design masks and shields to meet the needs of even the most complex applications. This face shield is popular in Malaysia to fight the Covid-19 but used for 3d printing. Malaysian 3D printing and design communities are coming together to produce face shields for frontliners facing the Covid-19 pandemic. . It has been converted to Solidworks. There are now a number of projects around the world, big and small, manufacturing breathing masks as fast as they can. A group of designers and engineers in Malaysia with access to a machine shop has designed a face shield that can be quickly, cheaply, and easily manufactured using simple tools. ptchannel1234@gmail.com
