The v400 is an excellent 3D printer. Why they fitted such a crappy spool holder to an otherwise excellent machine, I do not know. Here is a version I whipped up to accept a wide variety of spools. It is similar to the types that use ball bearings for the spool to ride on, only I extended that idea to add an "axle" of 3/4" PVC pipe. Filament spools come in all sorts and shapes and many are now fiberboard, which is often warped or distorted. By using a generous axle, all different spools will ride just fine.
