I absolutely hate the tether on the gas cap that Ford uses on it's pickup trucks. It is forever getting in the way and making it difficult to tighten the cap. I removed the tether completely and created a holder of the cap. While pumping gas the cap sits in the holder and when done install the cap back on the tank. The holder remains mounted neatly out of the way when the door closes.
