This barrel cam is modeled in SolidWorks 2021 Features: .. Optimized using cosine wave at 45 degree path angle for the smoothest possible force vectoring. This actually entirely depends on your application, some machines need more abrupt displacement changes in certain timeframe but in this case 45 degree is desired for ideal contact force resultant. .. Formulated model : the stroke length and track roller dimensions can be inputted right away using the cosine wave formula .. Note that the barrel diameter is supposed to have the same value as the stroke length in order to lock-in 45 degree .. Motion Study included .. Groove width is widened by 0,25mm in order to avoid locking up in real-world application hence the jagged velocity plot
