This is a freeze tray I designed for a project in my plastic technology course. The goal of this project was to design a freeze tray with a plastic material/s that can replace the aluminum the tray was originally made from and be able to hold 49 tubes. The plastics also had to withstand cryogenic temperatures at -150 degrees Celsius. The plastics I chose were FEP for the lid and PTFE Virgin Unfilled for the base. This tray has a clear lid for people to see the tubes underneath, just in case the lids of the tubes has a number or important piece of information on them. The lid and the base can be held together with a zip tie, piece of string, etc. and can be carried around with the two handles on the sides.
