Front Bumper for Lexus GX470 · 模型 74161
The main bumper body is made of 3mm steel sheet and winch plate support is of 6mm plate. The inner bend radius for them is kept at 2mm and 4mm respectively according to the recommendation of fabrication shop. There are cutouts to accommodate 3 inch pod/fog lights, the winch plate supports standard mounting position (10 inch x 4.5inch) for up to 12000lbs capacity winch (foot down type). Also there is support for fairlead mount so that winch line doesn't get damaged when the winch is in use. The original shape was inspired from another aftermarket model, some modifications were added according to client's requirement. This project involved the use of Solidworks and Inventor mostly. For alignment and mesh refinement of scan data I had to use Geomagic Design X and Autodesk Meshmixer. If you plan to reverse engineer or model around a scan data, I would recommend Geomagic first. If it requires complex surfacing/sheet metal design then you can use a parametric software separately, in this case I used Solidworks for the sheet metal part.
