Hello Friends, It’s been a long while since I’ve been on GrabCAD but I’m back. I still see a lot of my old friends are here and that’s comforting. I’m posting one of my latest projects, a small Steam Engine model. Something simple to get back into the swing of things. This Steam Engine model has one unique feature, a hypocycloidal gear assembly which converts the linear motion of the piston into rotational motion of the flywheel and output shaft. It makes for some interesting motion while viewing the animation which I’ve included. Along with several renders, I’ve uploaded my original Solidworks 2017 part and assembly files as well as several other popular formats. If I’m missing a format you would like just ask and I will try to oblige. I’ve also included the original PDF plans I used which are in Public Domain. Modeled in Solidworks 2017, rendered with Solidworks Visualize (formerly Bunkspeed). P.S. As always, the renders look best if downloaded in full hi-res glory 2560 x 1440. =) Thank you all !
