One of the key benefits of 3D printing is the ability to print pre-assembled mechanisms. This design showcases this through a simple but effective grabber mechanism. The goal was that when someone sees this and uses it they will wonder how it was made all as one part. I tried to showcase as many Polyjet capabilities as possible in this design: • Clear outer pebble casing so that the internals are all visible. • A flexible material for the black finger print slider button and also the grabber jaws. • Textures added to internal components – coloured carbon fibre on gears and cast metal on yellow arms. A minimum of 0.3 mm gap has been left between components and moving surfaces. Soluble support material will need to be washed away after printing. Screen grabs from GrabCAD Print show that it should print correctly on a J826 printer.
